Hiya !!
Just last week, a prior TNR recipient notified us that a person had moved out of a rental house and left several cats behind and some shut inside a house without air conditioning. I went to see what the situation was and what we could do to help. When I got there I could see two adults and two kittens in the front, and around the side there were tiny babies crawling under the ac unit. One of the babies had a terribly infected ear and it was just filled with crusted gunk. I could not let them stay even one more day there! They needed help immediately. I was able to scruff and pick up one of the front kittens but the other took off. Then, through much work and coaxing with kitten sounds and wet food, I was able to scruff 4 of the 5 kittens from the side. I picked up one of the mama's and put her in a carrier and the other mama I trapped. I brought them back to the rescue and they were just pitiful!! Visible ringworm, and tons and tons of fleas. Theses babies were covered. I set up emergency cages for the night until a better plan could be made. I am not overcome with how slow kitten season seemed to start but it is now just smacking us all around. Here is what I got day one. Thank you for being part of this rescue family. Want to help?
