It’s National Pet Disaster Preparedness Day, and we’re here to help you pack the purr-fect emergency kit—for you and your feline overlord. 🐈‍
Here’s what to include, from your POV... and theirs:
Real Cat Emergency Kit Must-Haves:
  • Copies of medical records + recent vet info
  • Medications (including flea/tick preventatives)
  • 3–7 days’ worth of food (wet + dry)
  • Bottled water & collapsible bowls
  • Litter + disposable tray (think foil pans!)
  • Trash bags, paper towels, cleaning wipes
  • Collar with ID, harness/leash or secure carrier
  • Familiar blanket or towel for comfort
  • Recent photo of your cat (for ID purposes)
  • Emergency contact list + info for nearby shelters

What Your Cat Thinks Should Be Included:
  • 42 cans of tuna, just in case
  • That one toy they ignore until 3am
  • Fresh catnip. Obviously.
  • Emergency nap pillow
  • “Emotional support sock” (aka the one they stole)
  • “Unlimited data so I can watch birds on YouTube”
  • Your bed. Bring it.

Whether it’s wild weather, fire, or the unknown—being ready could save a life.
Start your kit today, keep it updated, and remember: If it’s not safe for you, it’s not safe for them.
