Low-Cost Spay/Neuter for Community & Pet Cats
For only $20 - your cat can be neutered!!Spaying and neutering is essential in reducing and managing the cat population within our community. These procedures are performed by veterinarians to sterilize animals - making them incapable of reproducing. This is crucial because one female can become pregnant as young as four months of age and have at least two litters a year!
Spay/Neuter has many benefits in that cats who have this procedure tend to live longer, healthier lives and it eliminates the chances of certain kinds of tumors. It can also prevent/reduce unwanted behaviors associated with un-neutered cats such as fighting, mating, and wandering off which increases their chances of being hit by cars. |
We have two different options for assistance in spaying/neutering your cat(s) - feral/community cat (TNR) assistance and cats as pets assistance. In both programs, cats will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated (FVRCP and rabies) for the cost of $20 per cat. Additional vetting can be provided but will be at your own expense.
Feral & Community Cat (TNR) Assistance is for unowned outside cats, who are considered strays, but are being fed and cared for by you.
**IMPORTANT - the spay/neuter assistance programs are for Beaufort County, NC individuals only due to limited funds available.**
